No Heartache This Year
This weekend was the first real weekend of summer in our little corner of Pennsylvania, climate-wise. We went from wearing coats just a week ago with temps in the low 60s to the dog days of summer with temps in the high 80s, but I'm not complaining. We spent as much time outside as possible this weekend and ended up getting a little scorched as a result.
I spent Sunday afternoon planting flowers in our deck planters and pots. This year there will be no heartache----instead of bulbs I went with already bloomed annuals. Now Mike doesn't deal with me staring forlornly out at the back deck and asking him every five minutes all summer, "Do they look like they're growing? I think they're growing. Do you think they're growing?"
Saturday was also a nice day, aside from the hangover in the morning. My friend from Arizona, Diana, is in town this week and a gaggle of us went out the night before. This old body just can't hang like it used to! But Diana called me on Saturday while I was wallowing on the couch in Gatorade and self-pity and told me to "rally up". Her words of inspiration worked and we ended up having a fun girls day up in North East doing wine tasting at various wineries and then going to dinner at this little place called The Three Sails Cafe that was just cute as a button.

I'm jealous you got to go to Cedar Point! As an ex-"carni" (a.k.a. Waldameer Candy Bitch), I appreciate fun times at amusement parks.
