Fall Back...Get Ahead

I haven't blogged in quite sometime, mostly because I've been too busy spraining my ankle, rocking out at the Foo Fighters show, studying (Mike and I are both back in school)and trolling around the Caribbean with Hurricane Wilma on my tail. But as you can see from the picture that we took in St. Thomas, Wilma wasn't too threatening in the part of the Caribben where we were located.

Things have finally slowed down some and now we're on the one-way track to the holiday season. This weekend was excellent and it's amazing how that one extra hour made the weekend feel l-o-n-g. Those nonbelievers in Daylight Savings Time in Indiana just don't know what they're missing out on and how much more can be squeezed into those bonus 60 minutes.

Friday night we caught up with our friend Heather and her menagerie. Saturday we enjoyed pizza, beer, and watching Penn State beat Purdue (GO STATE!). We also watched a good ole fashioned scary movie to get into the Halloween spirit. Nothing like a little Michael Myers in the original Halloween to put one in the spirit of the season. Those classics, like the Exorcist, Halloween, and The Shining are far more freaky than current gore fests. All in all, a fun and relaxing weekend.

PSU Traitor?

I, along with every other good Penn State football fan, am extremely relieved that PSU seems to almost have their act together this year and are actually winning for once. I don't think that's happened since I was a freshman at University Park. People have ceased talking about how Joe Pa should hang it up. PSU almost gave me a heartattack during the Northwestern game, but they pulled it out and they gave Minnesota a sound whuppin' last weekend. I'm really hoping they're going to kick the crap out of Ohio State on Saturday night.

However, I can't help feeling a little like a traitor. Every year, as you may already know, a bunch of us old PSU alums go to one football game and this year we have tickets to the Wisconsin game in November. A little part of me keeps thinking blasphemous thoughts such as, "Great, now that they're winning, the hotel room is going to cost an arm and a leg" or "I bet we could have had better seats if they weren't playing so well".

Overall though, I'm just psyched to head down to Happy Valley and get my drink on at the Rathskellar (pony cases, baby!) and wake up early the next morning and head down to Beaver Stadium to see a great game.
