Eat Your Hearts Out, Ladies

Eat your hearts out, ladies----it seems all of these fine Alpha Phi Delta men are spoken for. Most recently and officially off the market, Casey, the groom, located in the center of this photo. Mike and I went to his wedding this past weekend in the Finger Lakes region of New York state. We had a great time, but it's kind of hard not to when the wedding and the reception is at a winery and microbrewery. Even though these guys are...ahem...dangerously close to thirty, they still know how to have a good time. Posted by Hello

Star Wars Anticipation

I'm really excited about Revenge of the Sith being released this week, but I'm trying not to let myself be too excited, because I'm afraid George Lucas will disappoint me again. I was really letdown by the Phantom Menace, between that annoying little boy he cast as Anakin and the awful addition of Jar-Jar Binks. Attack of the Clones proved to be much better (the Clone army was phenomonal), but I'm still unsure about Revenge of the Sith. It bothers me that everytime I turn on the TV I see Chewy doing ringtones for Cingular, Yoda using his Jedi tricks to sell Diet Pepsi, Darth going head to head with that creepy Burger King dude, and George Lucas himself on the O.C. I understand the need to do promotion for a film, but it feels like Lucas is either trying way to hard to push the film or else he's selling out. I hope he spent as much time on the movie as he has on marketing plans for his various characters. I guess we'll all find out this week!

First Time Out

My dad and I went golfing on Monday after work for the first time this season. It was a great day to be out; sunny, clear-skied, and about 75 degrees. The course was a little more crowded than I prefer but I was just happy to be out playing, so it really didn't matter. I parred the first hole and unfortunately things went slightly downhill from there. I ended up overall with what I think is a respectable 56. It would have been more, but my putting saved my ass on more than one occasion. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I'll be able to get out and play at least once a week all summer like last year.

Oldies But Goodies

In tribute to all the money I'm going to be spending in the next couple of months on all the eagerly anticipated new releases from Weezer, Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, and the White Stripes, I've been giving a spin to some of my old favorites that I haven't listened to in years. In the past week, I've listened to Weezer's Blue Album, Green Day's Dookie, Nine Inch Nails Downward Spiral, and Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dreams. It's kind of weird listening to some of it, because that music is pretty much the soundtrack to my high school years. It actually brought back memories of things that I had completely forgotten about.

On another music sidenote, last week we picked up the Killers CD Hot Fuss, and it's pretty good. The last two songs are little dull, but otherwise really good. I see why U2 chose them to open some of the shows on their tour this year (aside from the fact that both bands are with Island Records). Some it kind of reminds me of early U2, such as some cuts from Boy, October, and War.

I Heart Bo Bice

I admit it, I am a bit of an American Idol fan. Okay, actually I am a BIG American Idol fan and this season I'm pulling for Bo Bice. I just voted for him until my thumbs got tired of pressing redial. Last week's results couldn't have pleased me more; I had trouble tolerating Constantine from the beginning. Hopefully this is the week America will dump Scott and keep Bo around one more week. I think instead of being able to vote for who you want to keep around one more week, you should be able to vote for who you want gone.
