Much Apple Love

Back in May, we were riding the El train in Chicago with our friend Tony when he glumly said that he felt Apple and iPods were taking over the world. Even if they did, I don't think I'd care. My love of my iPod is up there with my love of puppies and gummi worms. I don't think that Apple is the scourge of the earth that Wal-Mart is. I also love shopping on the iTunes store because it's like Napster or Kazaa without all the guilt. How else would I get Gorillaz's Feel Good Inc or Audioslave's Doesn't Remind Me RIGHT NOW? I got much Apple love.

Good Times in N'Awlins

I'll begin by saying what I feel like I always say----it's been a long time since the last time I've blogged, but we've been super busy. Okay, now that's out of the way, I can at least tell you I have a good excuse----we just got back from spending six days in the Big Easy!

We had a really great time and I think that New Orleans is definitely a place that everyone should see once (even if you only go to eat the food!). Even if you never go back, you need to see it one time because it's really so unique and unlike anywhere I've ever been before.

Instead of going into a lot of detail about the week, I'm just going to list my top three favorite things about the trip:

1.) Dinner at Irenes-----Irene's was this great little restaurant that doesn't advertise and is more for locals that tourists. You can only make reservations there if you eat there more than twice a week, otherwise you have to wait it out, but it is worth the wait. Great atmosphere, really friendly waitstaff, and delicious French/Italian cuisine.

2.) The cemeteries-----Call me gruesome, but it was what I was looking forward to seeing most before we went and it did not disappoint. Above is a picture that Mike took in St. Louis No. 1 cemetery, which is the oldest and probably most famous as the acid dropping scene in Easy Rider was filmed there.

3.) Early morning in the French Quarter-----It was so peaceful. Every morning Mike and I would get up around 7 am and head to the same little place for breakfast, Cafe Beignet, and have breakfast. We'd eat our French pastries in the outdoor courtyard and watch the cats stroll through and after we finished, we'd walk around the streets before it became busy.
