A Bittersweet Moment with a Vacuum Cleaner

Last night my husband and I braved all the Chrismukah chaos to take advantage of the sweet sales on vacuum cleaners that was going on at Target. We've needed a new one since we got married, since ours is the one that lived in the fraternity house with Mike when he was in college. Needless to say, our poor old Dirt Devil had seen better days. We picked out our beautiful blue bagless Bissell (how's that for alliteration?) and brought her home with us. I was freakin' elated and vacuumed everything in sight and was just short of going next door to knock on the door of our neighbor, Mr. Old Dude, to see if he had anything he wanted vacuumed. That's when it hit me, and I became very depressed----I was excited about a VACUUM CLEANER. That officially means that I am old. Old, and possibly boring and uncool? It was only a temporary low, though, because then I caught sight of my husband carrying our crappy old vacuum to the trash and was again very pleased and didn't care how old I may be.
