One Year

Since we are soon leaving on a cruise to celebrate our first year anniversary, I thought I'd throw up a picture (courtesy of RichZ at RichardZ.com) from our wedding day last year. It's so hard to believe it's already been a year! It's hard to believe there was a time when Mike and I weren't married! Posted by Hello

Musings While Packing

While ironing and packing for our vacation, I was listening to some random MP3s on shuffle and David Bowie's "Space Oddity" came on and it started me thinking about the things that scare me the most in no random order:

1.) Bees
2.) Eels
3.) Clowns
4.) Driving on major highways in heavy traffic
5.) Burger King's "Breakfast with the King" commercial
6.) The idea of travelling in space

Of course, Fear No. 6 was inspired by David Bowie's "Space Oddity". I'm really glad he never wrote a song about eels or clowns, because I bet it would be just as scary as "Space Oddity".

Recharge Our Batteries

This weekend was a recharge our batteries kind of weekend. It was really relaxing with no concrete plans made going into it, and it felt great.

Friday night our friend Heather came over and we had a few beers and watched the presidential debate and Real Time With Bill Maher. It was amusing to watch G. W. stomp around the stage like a five-year old shouting "Tell Tony Blair we'll go it alone! Tell Tony Blair we'll go it alone!" At that point, we all thought that he was going to attack moderator Charlie Gibson. Overall, I've been mostly pleased with John Kerry's performance in the past two debates and feel that he is looking more "presidential". Hopefully on November 2nd many others will think so, too.

Saturday evening, Mike and I headed over to my parents for what could possibly be our last outdoor-grilled steak dinner for the year. Knowing Erie, I'm sure snow isn't too far around the corner! Dinner was delicious and we spent the rest of the night catching up with my parents, talking politics, and eating pumpkin pie.

Today has been an errand running, tying up loose ends kind of day. Mike is playing hockey at the Igloo right now and I'm finishing up the week's laundry. After a nice, realxing weekend like this, I feel ready to face a Monday morning!
