Back to the Grind
Well, it's back to the grind of work after a three-day holiday weekend. But it was a very good holiday weekend full of a mix of fun and much need rest for Mike and I.
Saturday we headed down to the hoopla of the G. Dubya rally at Veteran's Stadium. We thought we'd be fair and balanced by going to see him speak since we went to see John Kerry speak when he was in Erie in May and plan on seeing him speak again if he and Edwards decide to swing into town sometime in the next 56 days. Although I don't agree with the President, it was kind of exhilerating to see one of the most powerful men in the world only 20 yards in front of me. He's a better speaker in person than how he comes across over television. It was interesting that Mike had on a white t-shirt under a polo and security made him lift up his polo to show them that his white t-shirt did not have anything derogatory written on it.
Saturday night we went to a Labor Day party at our friend Heather's new house and we spent all of Sunday morning and a good portion of Sunday afternoon recovering from that party. Sunday afternoon we went to a Labor Day picnic at my parents' house and played six-handed pinochle with them and my grandparents all day, men vs. women.
On Monday we went golfing with my dad and then went back to my parents' house for picnic food leftovers where I literally ate until I hurt and ended up waking up with a food hangover this morning, if that's possible, which was kind of gross. It's hard to believe it's the end of summer.
