The Talented Mr. Groundhog

If anyone out there has ever seen this, please let me know because it kind of freaked me out.  This afternoon, I saw a groundhog climb a tree.  I had no idea they had the ability to climb trees and it was a little creepy to witness.  I don't know if this was an abnormally gifted groundhog or if they can all do that, but I do know that I didn't like it.  It kind of makes me wonder what hidden talents other animals have that I don't know about.

Captain Procrastination

I would like to officially proclaim myself "Captain Procrastination".  I procrastinate about almost everything.  I even make little to do lists, and then save everything on the to do list until the very last possible minute.  I think it drives my husband crazy.  We're getting ready to leave for a week vacation in two days and I still have a to do list that is as long as my refrigerator.  I know this because it is hanging on my refrigerator.  My greatest feat of procrastination was when I was a junior in college and went to Chicago for a weekend.  I got back to my apartment around midnight on a Sunday and had to write a 20-page paper for one of my upper-level English courses (I have a B.A. in English) for a 1pm class on Monday afternoon.  I finished it (and even got some sleep!), turned it in on time and ended up getting a B on it, which wasn't too shabby.  That also hung on my refrigerator for awhile.

I Hate the 90s...

Not really.  But I do hate the fact that after I got home from work this evening that I felt compelled to watch almost the entire "I Love the 90s" series on VH1.  They are really freakin' addicting.  I can't explain what it is about having MC Hammer talk about the cultural relevance of the Snapple Lady that kept me tuned in, but whatever it was had me hooked.

A Moose is on the Loose...Hopefully

Mike and I have recently been busy planning our upcoming summer road trip up the coast of New England, including a three night stay in different locations along the coast of Maine. I absolutely cannot wait to go to Maine, everyone I've spoken to about it has nothing but good things to say about it. I'm excited to see the lighthouses, to go hiking, to stay in a bed and breakfast, but most of all, I'm hoping to see a moose on the loose. Maine has a population 29,000 moose, so I'd like to think I have a decent shot, but deep down I know I'll probably come back without having seen a moose. I'm going to have almost the same hopes when we are in Belize in October, except then I'll be on the lookout for monkeys!

More Camping Blather

My dad just gave me a CD of some of the pictures he took while we were camping, so I thought I'd throw one of up on the blog. This one is of our campsite. Ours was a good distance into the woods from the road that runs through the campground. My parents had one a little further up towards the road from ours. All of the campsites in that area of the campground are spaced out from one another and not often occupied, since the nearest bathroom is an outhouse without running water. Most people, especially ones with little rugrats, prefer to camp towards the middle of the campground where the sites are closer together and are located by regular restrooms with running water. I'd take the outhouse over other people's obnoxious rugrats anyday! Posted by Hello
